Phad se Padh: Embracing Art Integration for Holistic Learning at Mount Abu Public School, Delhi

Education is no longer confined to textbooks and classrooms. Mount Abu Public School, Delhi believes in providing a holistic learning experience that goes beyond traditional teaching methods. That's why we are proud to participate in the Phad se Padh initiative, a collaboration between Rooftop and over 30 schools. This unique project allows students to explore modern academic subjects through the lens of traditional art, fostering a deeper understanding of the curriculum and promoting cultural appreciation.

Blending Traditional Art and Modern Academics with ‘Phad se Padh’

The Phad se Padh initiative provides students with the opportunity to select a topic from their course outline and express it through the intricate art form of Phad painting. This hands-on approach not only enhances their understanding of the chosen subject but also instills an appreciation for the delicacy and details of Phad art. By aligning with the New Education Policy of 2022, this initiative aims to broaden the horizons of young minds, encouraging creativity, cultural awareness, and interdisciplinary learning.

At Mount Abu Public School, we enthusiastically embraced the Phad se Padh initiative and chose Business Studies as our subject of exploration. Our students embarked on a remarkable journey of creating a Phad painting centered around the topic of Principles of Management. The canvas board masterpiece, measuring 10ft in length and 5ft in breadth, consists of 45 blocks, each measuring 20 x 24 inches. By incorporating lyrics in Hindi, we celebrated the essence of our rich cultural heritage.

Art Integration and Experiential Learning

A Powerful Combination According to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, art integration is a pedagogical approach that utilizes various art forms as the basis for learning across subjects.
